 | I made bubble tea! Serena was the store supervisor at my old job. She knew that Taro Bubble tea was my favourite drink in the whole world. Before heading off to Korea, as a 'thanks for leaving' gift, she gave me some taro mix, and tapioca pearls, or "bubbles" for the bubble tea. She also drew a wonderful set of instructions for me to follow. Tapioco pearls can be found in most Asian grocery stores. The mix in this video was picked up in Markham's Pacific Mall, (Steeles and Kennedy) but I know for sure that you can also find this stuff at PAT, in Toronto's Korea town. (Bloor and Bathurst) If you don't happen to live in Toronto, I would imagine that these ingredients can be found in the Asian grocery stores in any town or city. I haven't found one yet that doesn't have these ingredients (except for the Asian grocery stores that are actually in Asia-they don't seem to have these products) Thanks Serena! Instructions: Making the bubbles: 1) Use 1 part bubbles to 5 parts water (1:5 ratio) 2) Bring water to a rapid boil; add bubbles 3) cook for 30 minutes; turn off heat 4) cover pot with lid and let bubbles sit an extra 30 minutes 5) uncover and add sugar to taste!! Taro Mix: 1) Use 2% milk and add Taro mix to taste per glass 2) Add 1 teaspoon sugar per serving 3) Add ice and blend To Make Taro Bubble Tea: 1) Combine parts one and two. :) 2) Enjoy note: these are probably not the only way to make bubble tea, they may not even be the best, but they are the instructions I was ... |
